Digital Academy Summer Camps

Our Summer Camps are now booking!

In-person and virtual camps for 4–11 year olds will run July 11th — September 2nd.

We’ll be taking kids on a fun-filled Summer adventure, while learning coding and digital skills to last a lifetime. 

Ages 4+ can look forward to some creative coding, craft & code’ and robotics

Age 8+ can expect to be blown away with some Minecraft, website building (9+), logo design and robotics

What is the theme for Summer 2022?

This Summer you’re invited to join our Digital Academy bursting with varied and creative activities.

Do I need to book a full week?
You are welcome to book by the day as suits your schedule, or save 10% when you book a full week’s camp (discount will be automatically applied).

Don’t see a date that suits you?

Wherever possible, we can organise a private coding camp for your child and up to 5 friends, please contact hello@mama.codes to discuss options.

What’s on for ages 4–7?

At our in-person camps, your child can get hands-on with Creative Coding using the block-based children’s coding app ScratchJr, and explore a range of robotics kits.

We are also running our unique Craft & Code” workshops on several dates through the Summer, where children will use a range of art materials to create a colourful character, then animate it in their story in code!

At our virtual camps, we will be guiding children to create their own interactive animations with code, using the ScratchJr block-based programming platform and a range of follow-on activities to stay busy at home after the 60 minute live class.

Your child does not need to be a confident reader in order to access our coding camps.

What’s on for ages 8–11?

At our in-person camps, your child can get hands-on with Coding, Robotics, Minecraft, website building and digital design.

At our virtual camps, we will be guiding children to create their own interactive animations with code, using the Scratch programming platform and a range of follow-on activities to stay busy at home after the 60 minute live class.

What happens during a camp session?


During the 3‑hour camp, attendees will have 2 coding sessions and 1 robotics session, plus plenty of time for breaks, snacks and screen-free activities.

What is the robotics element of the camps?

Your child will have the option to stay for an additional 45-minutes after their coding session for an exclusive robotics session with a range of kits, including:

With Robo Wunderkind, children can build their own robots, customize them with building bricks, and program them to do an array of actions while learning the basic principles of coding, robotics, and STEM.

  • Picoh, by Ohbot (Scratch groups)

Picoh, by Ohbot, is a magical robot head that can be programmed to mimic human facial movements. Students will use their Scratch coding skills to bring the Picoh to life!

What does my child need to bring?

Attendees at ScratchJr groups (age 4–7) will ideally bring an iPad or other tablet that runs ScratchJr from home, though we have a limited number of devices on-site for a small rental charge. Please select the relevant add on’ to hire equipment when booking.

Please note a USB port is required for the robotics portion.

All children are encouraged to bring a water bottle and nut-free snack for break times.

For camps which run till after 12pm, children will be asked to bring a nut-free packed lunch.
